We are looking for a director who will be responsible for all of our client’s tax compliance. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the compliance of our client’s companies with the various tax legislations and for managing the compliance team. You will be part of a team that promotes the development of individuals’ personal and professional skills through a balanced approach between telework and face-to-face work.

Qualifications

  • Recognized professional designation in accounting and master’s degree in taxation or equivalent.
  • Excellent analytical and synthesis skills.
  • Good written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders located outside Quebec or unilingual English-speaking on a daily basis.
  • Minimum fifteen (15) years of experience in tax compliance.
  • Good priority management and respect for deadlines.

Location: Estrie or Montreal

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the compliance of the group’s Canadian and American companies with tax legislation and that they maximize their scientific research and experimental development claims in accordance with the tax legislation in force.
  • Review and approve the consolidated tax provision.
  • Implement the process to ensure compliance with the Canadian Global Minimum Tax Act and corresponding foreign laws.
  • Ensure the preparation, review and approval of tax returns.
  • Monitor the preparation of tax returns for foreign subsidiaries.
  • Manage Canadian/US tax audits and supervise tax audits of other foreign companies.
  • Monitor and follow up on tax legislative changes. Assess impacts and communicate issues.
  • Maintain an adequate control environment for management processes under his/her responsibility.
  • Implement and/or improve processes related to tax compliance.
