The KPMGI: Our Impact Plan is a team within Global Corporate Affairs responsible for the implementation of KPMGI's Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) commitments. The KPMG: Our Impact Plan has four main focus areas - People, Planet, Prosperity and Governance. The candidate will be responsible for the Planet pillar of Our Impact Plan and report directly into the Global Head of Sustainability – Our Impact Plan.
What you will do
- Support the Head of Global Sustainability (Our Impact Plan) and lead, manage and deliver on publicly stated Planet commitments and the preparation of regular planet updates to the Board, Global Management Team and other management presentations for senior leadership.
- Design and implement decarbonization lever strategies through to implementation on sustainable travel and sustainable technology, management of the Internal Carbon Price strategy and Renewable Energy strategy, as well as working closely with global sustainable procurement team as the SME to implement phase two of our global procurement sustainability strategy for 700+ suppliers.
- Management, preparation, re-baselining and modelling of Science Based Targets (SBTs), management of the annual decarbonization forecast and gap analysis for Board firms including supporting tools and materials to continue to improve quality and consistency.
- Day to day leadership oversight and management of the Planet Working Group and the Global Technical Decarbonization Working Group, management and coordination of the global decarbonization leadership advisory group and trusted advisor and lead of the KPMG planet community - with focus on Board firms and firm clusters to proactively share best practice across member firms, and work closely with our ESG client team to leverage market leading best practice and insights.
- Support the technical strategy and implementation regarding KPMG International’s own decarbonization strategy, legislative requirements and supporting programs.
- Work closely with the ESG Reporting Director on planet reporting, support the Limited Assurance process and lead on Transition Plan development preparation – and ongoing management.
What you bring to the role
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in sustainability or a related field, demonstrating a proven track record of success.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience.
- Strong technical acumen on sustainability, with ideally in-house experience from strategy through to delivery.
- Excellent relationship building skills with senior stakeholders – internally and externally. Team player – who builds collaborative and trusted multi-stakeholder relationships.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects, with strong communication skills - verbal and written.
- Experienced line manager.
