Wage: $51.00 per hour; overtime rates apply after 8 hours/day at 1.5 times wage rate (as per existing collective agreement).

Benefits Package: Benefits (as per existing collective agreement with CLAC) including extended health coverage, dental, optical, prescription drug plan, short term & long-term disability, life insurance, accidental death & disability coverage and emergency travel.

Location of work: Fort McMurray, Alberta

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Erect steel to complete structural steel structures, pre-assemble panelization, bridges and gangways
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to correctly erect structures
  • Previous experience with layout, man lifts in congested areas and connecting mods is considered an asset
  • Rigging and heavy lift experience: working with construction cranes, derricks, and other hoisting equipment
  • Ensures that work is completed within deadlines
  • Communicate work progress and safety performance to the site supervision
  • Must be flexible with duties to support project requirements

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a Journeyperson structural or generalist certificate from a recognized provincial training authority
  • Previous experience in an industrial or live plant setting required
  • Communication and team player attitude
  • Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing

Work Conditions:

  • 14 days on and 7 days off rotational shift working 10-hour days
  • Working at heights
  • Camp based accommodations provided for non-local candidates

  • Chartered Flights are NOT provided (see below)
  • Travel Allowance for non-locals is provided, however candidates are responsible for arranging their own flights / transportation to and from camp
