Summit Aviation is hiring a Senior Accountant - Inventory & Fixed Assets to join our team in Vancouver on a full-time, permanent basis. In this role, you will manage all accounting activities related to fixed assets and inventory.We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join Summit Aviation on a full-time, permanent basis in Vancouver. As the Senior Accountant - Inventory & Fixed Assets, you will bring your passion for accounting to focus on all activities related to fixed assets and inventory. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly inventory reconciliations, post adjustment entries, verify accuracy, and maintain proper documentation
- Develop monthly fixed asset AUC schedules, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies, and handle asset capitalization entries
- Prepare CAPEX budget vs. actuals reporting, analyze additions/disposals, and review depreciation for accuracy and consistency
- Run inventory reports from RAAS, coordinate with Operations on monthly parts consumption, and post corresponding journal entries
- Identify opportunities for improving aviation inventory, fixed asset reconciliation, and month-end close processes
- Run aircraft utilization reports, summarize data for depreciation calculations, and prepare variance analyses to support budgeting
- Manage inventory accrual entries, reconcile standard costs related to aircraft parts consumption, and track inventory issued to leased aircraft
- Maintain RAAS system inputs, including weekly foreign exchange rate updates, and review/approve AP invoices related to inventory and CAPEX
- Lead year-end inventory counts, investigate discrepancies, and ensure accurate reconciliation of variances
- Provide backup support and respond to auditor inquiries regarding inventory and fixed assets
Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years of full-cycle accounting experience, with hands-on experience with inventory and fixed assets accounting
- Background of supporting operations required in a multi-entity environment
- Large ERP experience an asset (I.e. JDE and Hyperion Financial Management)
- Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail and ability to multi-task, set priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, management, and organization skills
- Works independently, manages multiple tasks, and sets priorities
- Commitment to continuous improvement and excellent customer service
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and accounting software skills; able to organize, interpret, and reconcile high volume of transactions and data using Excel
