Description

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Tailings Maintenance and Small Projects Superintendent to lead the coordination and management of tailings maintenance operations across our dynamic Energy projects. In this pivotal leadership role, you will oversee the safe, efficient, and compliant maintenance of tailings operations, ensuring adherence to environmental regulations and safety standards. You will supervise and mentor a dedicated team of maintenance professionals while collaborating seamlessly with project managers, contractors, and regulatory agencies to develop and execute comprehensive maintenance strategies for tailings facilities.

Your keen attention to detail, ability to problem-solve, and proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential maintenance issues will ensure that the project runs smoothly and safely. With your leadership and expertise, you’ll help ensure the integrity and stability of the Tailings facilities, reduce environmental risks, and keep our teams and the public safe.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manage a large Tailings workforce at site and report to the Project Manager
  • Implement the project’s Tailings Management Plan and Construction Maintenance Program
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of various Tailings systems. This includes but is not limited to LSD, turnarounds, and emergency situations
  • Supervise the day-to-day tailings maintenance team, ensuring team perform their duties competently and safely in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Regulations and company policies and procedures
  • Create daily work schedules, work plans, assign required resources (labor, equipment, and subcontractors), and track progress
  • Coordinate daily maintenance tasks with other project disciplines and teams
  • Perform daily site inspections
  • Holding the team accountable to ensure success of the team
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders to ensure success

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience in Tailings
  • Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory or management experience
  • Journeyperson Trades ticket is an asset
  • Must be able to read and understand drawings, schedules and work orders
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and set priorities
  • Ability to plan detailed work
  • Familiar with Light Civil execution and equipment
  • Strong piping systems knowledge and familiar working with sidebooms
  • Experience using MS Office and an aptitude for learning various project management and reporting systems
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills with other disciplines, subcontractors, and field crews
