Work Conditions
- Shift based position with 5 days on and 2 days off, working 10 hours per day
- Project end date: April 2025
- Onsite parking available

Essential Responsibilities
- Comprehend blueprints, drawings, and specifications to prepare layouts including selecting materials, planning sequences and methods of work, and measuring and marking materials to avoid costly mistakes or omissions
- Stick welding (SMAW) of parts and structural steel frames
- Assist in preparing parts, columns, and beams to be welded, which may include cutting, punching, drilling, and bending of material
- Use and operate the welding equipment to fabricate and customize components
- General welder’s helper duties such as grinding, buffing and weld set up
- Strong communication and a team player with demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision
Qualifications
- Certified Journeyperson with previous experience in an industrial setting or be a registered apprentice from a recognized provincial authority
- Valid CWB SMAW All positions certificate
- Physically fit with the ability to lift 50 lbs. bend, kneel, crouch and climb stairs on a regular basis
- Successful completion of pre-access drug and alcohol testing
