Bready Elementary School

Bready Elementary School is a collaborative learning community that strives for excellence with our students in Kindergarten to grade 6. We have a strong team who set high expectations so that all students can live and learn in a safe and caring environment. We are looking for an individual who is motivated to build strong relationships with students, staff and families and will continue to provide responsive and engaging instruction to a diverse community of learners. Summary of Position

This posting is for a Permanent Part-time (.50 FTE) School Liaison position, commencing August 26th, 2024. The successful applicant would have the option of working on alternate days (Monday to Friday)- 7.5 hours per day, or 3.75 hours per day, Monday to Friday mornings. As a School Liaison Worker, you will be responsible for building genuine relationships with students/families and community partners and advocating for those who experience barriers to success in school.

Accountabilities

Enhance relationships between school and home to meet student needs - including home visits

Provide support to students who are experiencing social, emotional and/or behavioural dysregulation

Enhance connections to Indigenous and/or multicultural communities.

Assist in the development and/or implementation of preventative programs and activities for individuals and groups

Build relationships and provide necessary connections with partner organizations to help families access needed resources and/or services

Qualifications

Preference will be given to a candidate with post-secondary training in Social Services, Human Services, Psychology, or Sociology

Equivalent training and experience will be considered

The ability to offer life skills, social skills and anger management programming would be an asset

Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract with access to a reliable vehicle
