Summary of Position
This posting is for Casual Educational Assistants to fill in vacancies at Cando Community School throughout the school year on a call-in basis. Hours of work are 6.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday. Educational Assistants are an important part of the school team and promote engagement, participation and success of students. Educational Assistants support students with intensive needs in five key areas: providing personal care, life skills and experiences, academic assistance, communication, and behavioural support as required by students and directed by teachers.
Qualifications
Grade 12 or equivalent education
Possess strong communication skills to interact with children and well-developed interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and multi-task.
Post-secondary certificate from a recognized institution in Early Learning & Childcare, Youth Care Worker or equivalent program would be considered an asset
