As of October 15, 2024 Loblaw has adopted the following Hybrid working model (a combination of working between the office and remotely). Colleagues will continue working remotely up to 1 day a week, while spending the other 4 days in the office (to be determined by each business unit).

The role of a Financial Analyst - eCommerce & Loyalty poses the unique opportunity to play an important role in the growth of Loblaw Digital, a rapidly growing growth area for Loblaw, and PC Optimum, one of the largest loyalty programs and most trusted and influential brands in Canada. In this role you will analyze and report on the full P&L for five digital businesses & Loyalty from Sales to EBIT. The successful candidate will play a critical role with the monthly business rhythm and performance reporting to Senior Leadership. The role is located at the downtown Toronto office.

  • Assist with the financial reporting and forecasting function for the Loblaw Digital & Loyalty businesses.
  • Perform weekly reporting for Sr. Leadership, with responsibilities including consolidating results, developing analysis and commentary for each business. Review data for accuracy to financial reporting and identify + provide explanations for anomalies.
  • Perform period actual reporting, with responsibilities including preparing data for periodic financial reporting. Identifying trends while providing periodic, quarterly and full year analysis and commentary
  • Analysis of Loyalty issuance and redemption actuals across the Loblaw enterprise and third-party partners
  • Support for ad-hoc business analysis and reporting as needed (including P&L and profitability analysis)
  • Develop and implement process improvements for identified gaps for the Loblaw Digital & Loyalty businesses
  • Perform process reviews to identify inefficiencies and develop and implement solutions
  • Support business controls by creating documentation of financial processes and forming a knowledge repository

What You'll Need:

  • Working towards bachelor's in accounting, finance, business, economics, or a related field
  • Understanding of financial accounting principles
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to think outside the box
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, ideal candidate will also have exposure / competency using analytics tools such as SQL, R or Tableau
