Role Mandate:
The Senior Analyst, Space Optimization will be accountable for improving promotional space optimization through inventory flow, forecasting, reducing days on hand, and maximizing sales and profit opportunities. The role will be responsible for analyzing the historical and future plans of the promotional floor plan to determine opportunities and manage the inventory flow through the markdown optimization process.
Tasks/Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities
Analyze the space optimization model results that are being allocated to the floor space to ensure that the promotional strategies are being delivered
Analyze the markdown optimization model to send markdown prices on items that are in excess inventory positions
Manage the markdown process within the merchandising teams to make recommendations and receive feedback on future price changes
Submit all markdown price changes to be executed on a weekly basis and monitor the sell through
Create full year/quarterly/periodic selling floor strategies and communicate to all merchandising teams by utilizing analytics to optimize space
Reporting of weekly/periodic/quarterly post mortems of selling floor results with a focus on sell through, forecast accuracy, sales and margin.
Reporting of weekly/periodic/quarterly post mortems of markdown results with a focus on sales, margin, and inventory position
Maximize floor selling space by using customer insights through analytics to select the correct item to allocate to the floor.
Manage the periodic inventory program submissions for the selling floor and work with the planogram team to ensure all planograms are updated to reflect the correct inventory adjustments
Role Requirements:
1-3 Years of experience in a similar capacity
Post-secondary education - Business, Finance, Math/Statistics, Analytics preferred
Experience in MS Excel, MS Access or other analytical tools required
Experience with SAS, R, SQL or other relevant statistical modeling tools/languages
Previous experience in retail operations, merchandise planning, and analytics
Demonstrated experience on project management
Strong analytical background and problem solving mindset
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Detail oriented and strong time management skills
