The focus of this role is to grow and develop a team of future leaders focusing on developing inspirational and empathic leaders that are passionate, driven and curious. As a leader on this team you will also lead transformation initiatives in Canada’s biggest retailer utilizing a range of skills and methods (ex. Lean, Six Sigma, Design Thinking, and/or Agile). Primary responsibilities include leading discovery for complex business problems, driving insights through data analytics, solutioning in terms of new and innovative process / tech designs, supporting operationalization and communication development for all levels of the organization.
Role Accountabilities:
- Grow and develop team members into future leaders through thoughtful coaching, feedback, career pathing and talent planning
- Lead complex strategic business process/transformation projects, identify opportunities for productivity improvements, and simplify business complexities through innovative solutioning
- As an internal consultant for the business, lead all aspects of Discovery, root cause / detailed analysis and implementations through working with cross-functional teams across the enterprise
- Conduct facilitation of training session, creation of summary reports and executive summaries on data analysis findings and complete follow up on tasks from workshop takeaways
- Manage rollout of new initiatives through assigned process monitoring and diagnostic data collection via systems analysis or direct observation support. Accurately validate and summarize data, identifying additional improvement opportunities.
- Facilitate training and workshops, provide consultation to the target business groups in implementing process improvement initiatives
- Oversee reporting/tracking of Key Performance Indicators in order to meet ongoing objectives
- Provide thought leadership and/ or industry knowledge and lead or participate in knowledge transfer within the team and other teams to foster continuous improvement in the business

- Creative problem solver and strategic thinker with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Risk Assessment and Benefit calculations.
Role Requirements:
- Proven leadership effectiveness of high performing teams
- Well versed in Lean and or Six Sigma with knowledge of Design Thinking, able to deliver concepts and principles, certification preferred.
- Post-Secondary education in Industrial or Process Engineer / Technology or Finance; will consider Business or Operations consulting experience with MBA
- 10 - 12 years Process Engineering / Improvement experience, methods analysis, time & motion studies, work sampling, and data analysis in a retail, or supply chain work environment
- Ability to evaluate and analyze complex data and determine appropriate course of action towards objectives.
- Proficient at both Written and Oral Communication skills
- Advanced skills of MS Office applications, in particular WORD, EXCEL and POWERPOINT
- Highly developed technical writing skills
- 3-5 years of substantial/cross functional project management experience
