Team Lead, Site Reliability Engineering
Revolutionize Retail Technology - Be the Architect of the Future of Retail: Lead the strategy for retail store technology, impacting over 2500+ locations across the country. This isn't just about hardware; it's about leveraging cutting-edge technology to create a seamless and innovative customer experience. As a Team Lead, you'll drive efficiency, scalability, and operational excellence, shaping the future of retail technology.
What You’ll Do:
Transform Retail Operations: Design, implement, and oversee the deployment of cutting-edge hardware solutions across 2500+ stores, ensuring a scalable, efficient, and future-proof technological landscape.
Champion GitOps Excellence: Architect and manage hardware deployment processes through GitOps, pioneering a continuous, automated, and scalable approach to technology management.
Be a Security Trailblazer: Partner with the security team to implement robust patch management strategies, proactively addressing vulnerabilities and ensuring a secure environment for millions of customers.
Lead with Vision: Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to deliver impactful technology rollouts, minimizing disruption to store operations and maximizing customer satisfaction.
Foster Collaboration: Collaborate closely with retail operations, SRE teams, and security teams to ensure hardware deployment aligns with company goals, security standards, and the evolving needs of our customers.
Forge Strategic Partnerships: Manage relationships with external hardware vendors, negotiating contracts and ensuring timely delivery of equipment, services, and support to fuel our technology initiatives.
Be the Source of Truth: Maintain comprehensive documentation for all hardware configurations, deployment processes, and security patches, providing regular status updates to senior leadership and fostering transparency.
What You Bring:
Technical Expertise: Proven experience in software engineering, computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical field, demonstrating a deep understanding of technology principles.
Leadership in Action: 7-10 years of experience in IT infrastructure or hardware deployment, with at least 2 years in a managerial role, showcasing your ability to partner with key stakeholders, manage vendors, lead on-shore and off-shore teams, and inspire growth and scale for this new team.
GitOps Mastery: Strong understanding of GitOps methodologies (or comparable with willingness to learn), and automation tools, coupled with a passion for leveraging technology to drive efficiency and innovation.
Large-Scale Deployment Experience: Proven track record of managing large-scale hardware deployments, preferably in a fast-paced retail environment, demonstrating your ability to navigate complexity and deliver results.
Security Champion: Solid knowledge of patch management and experience working closely with security teams to address vulnerabilities, ensuring the integrity and security of our technology ecosystem.
Project Management Prowess: Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-location projects with tight deadlines, showcasing your exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
Communication & Leadership: Excellent communication and leadership skills, enabling you to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Bonus Points: Experience with retail technology, point-of-sale systems, DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, network infrastructure, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
Thrive in a Dynamic Environment: Ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities, demonstrating adaptability, resilience, and a passion for innovation.
Teamwork: Ability to be onsite at 1 President's Choice Circle in Brampton, Ontario - 4 days a week
