GENERAL FUNCTION

The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for completing a variety of tasks and projects to support the daily operations of the business and HR department and provide exceptional customer service to employees and managers, including responding to all inquiries quickly, completely, and professionally. This role also supports system and ensures accurate time and attendance, absence management and scheduling support for our manufacturing locations across Canada.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in various projects throughout the year within HRBP Canada Operations, which includes planning and tracking project activities, engaging internal and external resources, and effectively communicate appropriate information to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with HRBPs within RX Operations to align on data and business objectives for the various business units within the group.
  • Consolidate, Validate, and Distribute data for special projects and assignments as requested by manager.
  • Use HR software to manage employee information, changes, and updates across RX Operations.
  • Support Businesses with Integrations into EssilorLuxottica through systems, data, and trainings.
  • Provide support to HR and Managers throughout NA Operations for all HRIS systems (Kronos, MPD, HDA) including researching and supporting the resolution of problems and unexpected results and training as requested or deemed needed.
  • Provides system administration for the company’s Kronos Workforce Management system.
  • Runs Kronos reports and support Managers on inquiries related to these reports.
  • Works on documenting and tracking Help Desk Tickets from key business owners.
  • Support system configuration and production, including for example, Kronos access Issues, Configuration changes, Communication, Function Access and Reporting requests.
  • Support HRBPs with consolidation and reporting of Head Count Approvals monthly for RX Operations.
  • Support the training of RX Operations HR employees on systems and processes as requested.
  • Support the maintenance and update of employee rosters with data to ensure the rosters are usable within our teams.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as needed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • 1+ year of experience working in the human resources field
  • Knowledge of MS Office, including proficiency with MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Understanding of employment and labor laws
  • Knowledge of HR functions and best practices
  • Strong Attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • High level of customer service skills
  • Must be fluent in both French & English languages

  • Understanding of HRIS systems
