Applications Analyst - Willow, Clinical Informatics

Reporting to the Manager of Clinical Informatics, Willow Inpatient and Inventory Applications Analyst will use their clinical knowledge combined with their superior analytical skills to support Mackenzie health EMR (electronic medical record). Additionally, they will work closely with Pharmacy and clinical groups to provide end user support, troubleshoot issues and errors in the system, enhance and improve EMR while maintaining system standards by analyzing business operations, prioritizing, and implementing requested changes. Additional duties will include participating in rotational on-call, integrated system testing, upgrades and optimizations of the software, training, and creating and maintaining training environments and curriculums, as well as developing and documenting policies and procedures and ensuring they act as the liaison between end users, EMR, and associated third party vendors to ensure clear communication.

What must you have?

· Baccalaureate Degree in Pharmacy or Registered Pharmacy Technician (required)

· Undergraduate degree or diploma in health informatics or computer science or equivalent (preferred)

· Licensed to practice pharmacy by The Ontario College of Pharmacist or as a Registered Pharmacy Technician (required)

· Experience working with Epic EMR (required)

· Epic certification in Epic Willow Inpatient (preferred) and Epic certification in Epic Willow Inventory (preferred); or certification will be required within 3 months of hire

· Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a hospital Pharmacist or Pharmacy Technician (required)

· Superior experience with MS/ Windows / Visio experience

What else do you bring?

· Two to five years of hospital clinical and/or hospital information systems and EMR experience (required)

· Clinical knowledge of how various medications should be ordered and familiarity with pharmacy workflows, including dispensing and clinical monitoring

· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate information clearly and concisely with project leadership and stakeholders

· The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in supporting large scale health care information systems and technologies. They will utilize their project management skills to execute on-time deliverables to the organization.

· Highly organized and detail oriented

· They will use their expertise and understanding of the organizational culture and clinical application experience in providing support in the delivery of care across the hospital

· Strong communication and conflict-management skills

· Proven attendance record.

· Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all

· Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
