Senior System Consultant - Application and Integration

Permanent Full Time

The Senior System Consultant works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to implement, optimize, support, and maintain the Hospital’s non-clinical systems and integrations for Mackenzie Health sites. This includes being accountable for driving system optimization and process innovations, system upgrades, implementing and integrating smart and non-clinical systems, and managing best customer service support.

Contribute to safe, quality care by

  • Lead and conduct user workshops and work with internal and external teams on all phases of the system lifecycle including requirement gathering, analysis, solution design, development, data flow, implementation, integration, testing, training, support and maintenance.
  • Lead system problem solving, changes, patching, configuration, release documentation review, process mapping and oversee all matters related to the non-clinical systems.
  • Create and document detailed upgrade plans, test scripts, technical documentation and user education materials.
  • Provide team leadership, mentorship, input and support for the implementation of operational and strategic plans of non-clinical systems.

What must you have?

  • University degree in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in implementing, supporting and maintaining large scale systems.
  • Extensive working knowledge of interface and integration methodology (HL7, SOAP, Web Service, DICOM, FHIR etc.), database (SQL or Oracle), and programming languages (PHP, C#, Python, or Java) .
  • Working experience with EMRs, interface engines, clinical applications, and device integration an asset.
  • Working experience with PowerApps, Microsoft Azure, Office 365, Virtualization.

  • Strong proficiency in project management, change management and integration mapping, in-depth practical knowledge of project management methodologies, tools and techniques.

  • Effectively uses empathy in interactions with others.
