Description
Job Responsibilities:
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for the administration of preventive/predictive maintenance systems for plant equipment at Karmax. They will have a complete understanding of planning practices, which include efficient utilization of labour, parts, materials, and outside vendor services. This position includes the scheduling, tracking and evaluating maintenance activities to plant and production equipment in a way that minimizes equipment downtime and impact on production.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform all duties and promote themselves in a manner that reflects Karmax Expectations and Karmax’s Visions/Values through Magna’s Employee Charter.
- Follow and abide by all government, Legal, Magna and Formet rules and regulations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction activities.
- Perform equipment performance analysis and make necessary recommendations.
- Quarterly reviews of required PM’s in work area (validate effectiveness).
- Monitor and participate in ensuring all Key Performance Indicators (Safety, Quality and Productivity) are being achieved and if not assist in developing an action plan to ensure success.
- Suggest and implement PM improvements (frequency, content, etc.) based on collected data.
- Distributing, Scheduling and Tracking of weekly/monthly PM requirements.
- Monitor PM completeness and schedule/reschedule accordingly to achieve 100% completion.
- Maintain PM system - suggest and implement changes as required.
- Work with Production scheduling to schedule downtime to complete PM’s on equipment through the standard week and then on weekends.
- Schedule and assist with contractors for daily and weekend PM’s and projects.
- Research and obtain quotes for manpower to support weekend PM’s.
- Manage critical spare parts for new and existing programs.
- Develop and track a process for shutdown tasks/projects.
- Track downtime issues and prepare supporting documentation to support suggested tasks/projects/PM’s.
- Develop and maintain a library of supporting equipment documentation for the area/department.
- Update and maintain electrical and mechanical drawing database as required.
- Support Environmental reviews and audits as required.
- Support TS requirements and implementation changes as required.
- Support with insurance audits as required.
- Support Production/Planning/Maintenance functions on off shifts. Utilize information provided to make scheduling decisions according to Karmax procedures.
- Develops and effectively implements cost savings ideas / projects.
- Ability to understand budgets, cost estimating, and value to business.
- Help with keeping an optimal and minimal stock of spare parts and materials.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Certificate of Qualification in a Karmax recognized trade (Electrican or Millwright)
- Completion of post-secondary education.
- Experience with CMMS preferred.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent mathematical, analytical and organizational skills
- Strong computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Project
COMPENSATION PACKAGE AND PERQUISITES:
- Base salary of $89,398.40
- Day Shift 7am-3:30pm
- 2 Weeks Vacation after 6 months of employment, 4 Personal Paid Holidays and 2 Floater Days
- Ability to lieu 40 hours of overtime for an additional paid week off
