Job Responsibilities:
Position Overview:
The Summer Student Corporate R&D will support technology projects within the R&D team, working with the engineering staff in performing evaluations of the technologies and the building blocks supportive of automotive products, advanced manufacturing principles, and software integration. This will include literature research, design and prototyping work, as well as testing and result presentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Support R&D staff in robot programming and simulation work, executing smaller work packages individually and independently.
Conduct literature research and summarize results.
Operate collaborative robots under strict safety protocols, following detailed instructions.
Assemble prototypes and testing setups for collaborative robots, ensuring proper functionality and performance.
Analyze simulation, design, and measurement results, and create presentations/reports under the supervision of R&D staff.
Laboratory organization and management.
Qualifications:
Electrical, Mechatronics, or Robotics engineering student with hands-on experience in hardware development and programming (such as Arduino and LabVIEW).
Mechanical or Robotic engineering student with initial experience in common engineering design and analysis tools (CAD/Simulation software, such as SolidWorks and Matlab/Simulink).
Programming skills in common languages (Python, C/C++, Java, etc.).
Understanding of general engineering principles and their application to real-world scenarios.
Ability to read and understand scientific papers and technical descriptions and to summarize key findings.
Mechanically adept and capable of assembly using standard hand tools.
Ability to work independently after instruction.
Education / Experience:
Minimum 3rd-year mechanical or electrical engineering student, with a minimum CGPA of 3.7/4.0.
Familiar with Python/C++, SQL, and robotics principles.
Strong foundation in Mechatronics or Robotics.
Special Knowledge / Skills:
Self-starter with a “can-do” attitude and a get-the-job-done personality.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct a normal amount of work at a computer. Small manual work without heavy lifting.
