Job Responsibilities:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in metallurgy / heat treat operations or as a combination of a minimum of 5 years formal metallurgical education and heat treat experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the Automotive Quality Field.
• Knowledge or background in IATF 16949, AIAG Core Tools.
• Knowledge or background in Customer Specific Process Requirements for Press Hardened Steel and Aluminum Aging Ovens including CQI-9, and other audits.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform all duties and promote themselves in a manner that reflects Formet Expectations and Formet’s Visions/Values through Magna’s Employee Charter.
• Follow and abide by all government, Legal, Magna and Formet rules and regulations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction activities.
• Ensure Lab equipment is maintained and serviced.
• Implementation of all documentation for new products, process development and validation.
• Support initiatives to reduce cycle time, scrap and improve process stability in Hot Stamping and Heat Treating.
• Support development of PFMEAs and Control Plans for Hot Stamping and Heat Treating.
• Responsible for the job descriptions and SOPs of the Quality Team Members in Test Lab.
• Support in the updates, revisions, implementation and archiving of quality records and documents that pertain to the Lab including the Laboratory Scope and Manual.
• Support QEC’s with Material Properties Testing & Reports for PPAP packages. • Maintain Customer Surveys, Audits and other Specific Requirements related to Hot Stamping and Heat Treating.
• Support the training of production personnel in all quality requirements of Hot Stamping and Heat Treating Processes.
• Ensure support is provided for all departments with any quality/testing concern.
• Support and follow through on completion of tasks / projects, PCR’s and CIP’s. • Attend and / or champion meetings.
• Demonstrate a sense of urgency to achieve results.
• Perform other duties as designated.
