Reporting to the AVP Inside Sales, Retail Distribution, Individual Insurance, as an Internal Insurance Wholesaler - Mass Market, you will work with peers and External Wholesalers to support specific region or targeted firms. Together, you are responsible for prospecting, retaining and evolving existing advisor relationship in the Multi-level Marketing model where advisors are rewarded both for selling products and continuously recruiting for sub-distributors, yet always with the goal to drive sales and promote client centric solutions that increase individual life & living benefit insurance sales at Manulife.

The successful candidate will be an integral part of a high energy sales team and required to grow sales, by proactively calling financial advisors and field staff to deliver value and sales support. The ideal candidate is a dynamic individual with a sales focus, excellent communication skills, strong work ethic and a competitive aim to succeed. They are comfortable with a flexible work schedule with the potential expectations to oversee business/events happen on the evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Using their outstanding communication skills to proactively interact with advisors daily, with the objective of supporting key advisors and partnering with them to uncover sales opportunities.

  • Handling & coordinating their daily tasks effectively to achieve efficiency metrics in a way that best supports advisors and the region

  • Handling incoming advisor inquiries (case consultations, illustration support, product queries and training, etc.)

  • Using peers, external wholesalers, tools & resources, data & analytics, etc. to investigate proactive sales opportunities that are formalized and driven via effective business planning (60 day cycles).

  • Using Salesforce.com to build and maintain advisor profiles and data on current and proposed activity

  • Collaborate with peers from other teams, departments and territories to share business leads and ideas

Internal Wholesalers also have the outstanding opportunity to participate in a Manulife proprietary continuous training program; a dedicated program that is crafted to provide the Internal Wholesaler with the necessary skills and knowledge to be promoted to an External Wholesaler position.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years insurance/sales experience

  • Proven proactive sales success and experience prospect calling

  • Passionate to communicate on the phone, online virtual and in-person (where applicable)

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • LLQP designation preferred (or in process)

  • College or University degree in related field or equivalent work experience

  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Microsoft Office, including intermediate level of experience using Excel

  • Ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills

  • Well-organized, self-starter with high energy and creativity

  • Innovative marketing and problem-solving skills

  • Excels in a collaborative and ambitious environment with a strong desire to win

  • Bilingual and fluent in French and English is a bonus
