Senior IT Project Manager

The Opportunity

The Sr. IT Project Manager manages and coordinates business/ technical projects through all phases of initiation, development, and implementation!


Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading and completing sophisticated technical, time sensitive projects with critical interdependencies across multiple partners through development and implementation.
  • Ensures projects are completed within budget, schedule, and quality targets while meeting business objectives
  • Ensures progress against important achievements where consistent and coordinated implementation is required
  • Leads coordination efforts with some leadership support of Product Owners, Architects and Engineers to meet business and technical requirements.
  • Identifies resource needs for the project and establishes roles, expectations, and goals with team members
  • Calls out Risks on project meeting timeline / budget/ scope
  • Establish a governance cadence with partners and report on the project’s performance against critical metrics
  • Advise and manage internal and external resources from multiple locations
  • Works with partners to define and manage the scope, strategy, requirements, and implementation of projects
  • Provides effective and regular communication within the project team, partners, sponsors, and management
  • Identifies, analyzes, mitigates, documents, and controls project issues and risks that impact project delivery and raise to management
  • Reports on and manages project resource tracking and budgets for project area
  • Creates and reviews communication to partners for leadership
  • Positive impact to project outcomes
  • Understands nature of impact and creates lessons learned for future delivery
  • Strong contributor able to enable others within immediate team

What we are looking for

  • 10 year of work experience and minimum 5 years solid experience as a Project Manager
  • Good problem-solving skills, copes with sophisticated situations through deliberate analysis and planning
  • Demonstrates understanding of how technology supports Manulife's strategy
  • Strong detail orientation
  • Prior experience with Agile methodologies with enterprise-level application development projects
  • Experience in the development of a broadly implemented technology stack
  • Experience in delivering projects from inception through to post-implementation warranty using waterfall and agile project management methodologies.
  • Experience in handling and delivering projects involving partners from multiple locations
  • Constantly learns from both success and failure
  • Good organizational and problem-solving abilities that enable you to handle through creative abrasion
  • Good verbal and written communication; able to effectively articulate technical vision, possibilities, and outcomes

Salary range is expected to be between

$92,190.00 CAD - $171,210.00 CAD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
