Vice President, Head of Retail Products & Portfolio Yield Management, Manulife Bank

The VP, Head of Retail Products & Portfolio Yield Management will lead a high performing team responsible for all retail products that are not specialized lending or residential lending including deposits (chequing & savings, GICs, TFSAs, RRSPs), ATM and credit cards.

As a member of the Bank Leadership team, the Head of Retail Products & Portfolio Yield Management will be accountable for portfolio data & analytics driving optimization of the portfolio through effective yield management and forecasting.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Define the business line strategy for Retail Products and Yield Management and accountable for end-to-end execution against plans.

  • Facilitate increased sales and significant earnings growth through pricing models that are attractive and competitive in market, with the highest possible profitability yields.

  • Improve funding mix, driving towards annual earnings improvement.

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and internal standards; accountable to execute 1st line controls and testing of standards.

  • Ensure product positioning and market competitiveness.

  • Vendor management and operations for credit card products.

Product Management:

  • Responsible for Product Management and end-to-end customer experience for all retail products.

  • Oversee product strategy and value proposition, P&L management, and business casing.

Yield Management

  • Develop Yield Management function for the Bank.

  • Define strategy for pricing capabilities and portfolio optimization.

  • Create new models to optimize pricing and understand customer & market dynamics.

  • Work with vendors to execute on Pricing Agility capability for the Bank.

Portfolio and Data Analytics:

  • Lead the team which supports all products' reporting, forecasting, and analytical needs (inclusive of OKRs).

  • Establish data steward responsibilities for the Bank.

  • Drive efficient and effective self-serve use of tools across the Bank to inform business decisions.

Leadership:

  • Team Building: Assembling and leading high-performing teams that are aligned with the company's values and objectives.

  • Talent Development: Investing in the professional development of employees through training, mentorship, and performance management.

  • Inclusive Culture: Fostering an inclusive and diverse work environment where all employees feel valued and empowered.

  • Communication: Ensuring transparent and effective communication within the organization and with external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • 10-15 years' experience in retail banking.

  • Highly strategic and effective leader known for delivering results in a fast-paced organization.

  • Expertise in deposit products, pricing and yield optimization, with a deep understanding of best practices in the Canadian market.

  • Strong analytical skills and deep product management experience to drive Data & Analytics function.

  • Highly effective leadership skills, leading large teams & driving change.

  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs, market trends and customer demands.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor a diverse and distributed team.

Salary range is expected to be between

$171,200.00 CAD - $317,700.00 CAD
