Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, does the repairs and maintenance of the plant's equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Answers service calls     
  • Does the preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance of the plant's equipments     
  • Knows how to troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical problems and finds solutions to solve it and repair them     
  • Performs basic welding and cutting
  • Knows the operation of electro-mechanical components      
  • Takes charge of one or many projects and to complete them with minimum supervision     
  • Contributes in the improvement of the plant's equipments' functioning     
  • Works unsupervised on various work shifts     
  • Sees to the department's good housekeeping practices and maintains his work areas in good conditions
  • Computer literacy to work with CMMS
  • Organizes and maintains stock of spare parts and maintains record for inventory control Makes sure to read and follow daily production schedule and instructions
  • On a day to day basis, ensures that he meets hygiene, safety and sanitary conditions; complies to health and safety government rules and regulations (with particular attention to article 27(1) and (2) of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Industrial Establishments) as well as environmental ones; that permanent and appropriate corrective measures be taken immediately. Wears required equipment and personal protective equipment

Requested skills

  • High School Degree and 5 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic
  • Millwright license and/or electrician certificate
  • Knowledge of various mechanical constituents (pneumatic, hydraulic, etc…)
  • Experience in PLC and computer literacy to work with CMMS
  • Good mathematics and mechanic skills
  • Logic abilities such as decision making and problem resolution skills
  • Coordination and dexterity
  • Able to work on difference work shifts and overtime if necessary
  • Leadership and autonomy
  • Analytical capacity and sense of initiative
  • Time and priorities management
  • Perseverance and can work under pressure
  • Detailed (rigorous)
