Project Coordinator - Civil (Site-based in Trail, BC)
As a Project Coordinator in our Civil division, you will have the opportunity to support our Project Managers in delivering heavy civil and industrial-type projects. This role will be site-based in Trail, BC, with a live-out allowance provided if applicable. Once the project is completed, you will transition to working out of our Kelowna office.
As a Project Coordinator, you’ll support the project team with documentation, estimating, budgeting, and scheduling, while gaining exposure to various contract types such as Design-Build, Plan and Spec, and Construction Management.
This role offers a clear path to Project Manager, with advancement based on your performance.
Your key responsibility is to help ensure projects are delivered profitably, to spec, with high quality and a strong focus on site safety.
In doing so, you will be involved in:
- Will be participating on heavy civil and industrial type projects
- Assisting in preparing budgets and construction schedules, setting up project administration files
- With direction from the Project Manager, initiating and maintaining correspondence with Owner, Architect, Engineers, sub-trades and suppliers
- Gain an understanding of how to select suppliers and sub-trades and obtaining quotations
- Assisting with and/or clarifying scope of work with sub-trades and suppliers
- Developing successful relationships with current and prospective clients, consultants, realtors, and developers
- Ensuring there is a continuous focus on site safety in accordance with regulatory requirements as well as our Corporate Health and Safety Policy
- Attending site meetings and assisting in the completion of project deficiencies
- Closing tenders in consultation with senior managers

Qualifications/Skills:
- Minimum 1 year or more experience as a Project Coordinator in the construction industry.
- A University Degree/Technology Diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or a combination of education and industry experience.
