About the Position

As a Senior Accountant at Forvis Mazars, you will be an integral part of our dynamic team, contributing to our mission of providing top-notch  services.

Your role will involve managing a portfolio of clients, ensuring their accounting and tax follow-up. You will work with diverse structures in terms of legal status, size, and economic environment, facing a variety of challenges.

Your responsibilities

  • Entry of accounting records and documents
  • Preparation, validation, and approval of bank reconciliations
  • Variance analysis
  • Recording, validation, and approval of tax declarations
  • Preparation of various financial reports
  • Preparation of information required for year-end files
  • External work for clients requiring advanced accounting knowledge

Your Skills and Experience

You might be a good fit if you have:

  • DES, DEC, or BAC in accounting
  • Accounting designation (an asset)
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, complex functions, macros/VBA, data analysis, Power Query)
  • Skills in creating dashboards, financial reporting, and data security (an asset)
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting software, including QBO
  • Knowledge of sales taxes
  • Advanced expertise in accounting, including local accounting standards, reconciliations, analytical procedures, payroll accounting, and foreign exchange differences
  • Knowledge of IFRS standards (an asset)
  • Proficiency in French and English, to effectively interact with all our clients in Quebec and beyond.​​​​​​​
