THE POSITION.
We are seeking a passionate and fully qualified Elementary Teacher On Call to add to our team. Someone with charisma, heart, patience, & values. A teacher that’s not afraid to get creative, interpret content, and deliver it so that it’s truly understood. We want to hear what you have to say, and our students can’t wait to hear you say it in your unique voice.
OUR IDEAL PERSON.
The ideal candidate will have experience planning various learning objectives, value collaboration between team members, and enjoy project based/multi modal engagement of learning. Applicants should have a strong sense of their individual educational philosophy, be community oriented, and align with our inclusive driven practices. Montessori experience and/or training is not necessary but the ability to engage learners in hands-on learning and a project driven curriculum is required.
A Bachelor of Education degree, with undergraduate studies in an appropriate discipline
BC Teacher Certification (COQ) or Independent School Teaching Certification
Experience teaching at the Elementary level in a school environment
Has the ability to provide an inclusive program that focuses on whole child development, while offering positive child guidance and supervision.
Knowledge of the environmental factors needed to create nurturing, stimulating learning experiences that support the whole child.
Strong technology and 21st Century Learning skills
Some experience/knowledge/training with gifted and/or students with exceptionalities such as autism and ADHD is an asset.
Applicant should model growth mindset and be dedicated to personal and professional growth and development.
A life-long love of learning, flexibility and a sense of humour is essential.
