Your every day with us:
As a Business Analyst within our Business Intelligence team you will gain an understanding of our Group, Individual and Government client business, including how they are structured and managed from a technical perspective. You will interact with key business areas such as Finance, Business Development, Case Management, Underwriting, Federal/Provincial Programs, other IT teams and customers. This role will be responsible to analyze, understand and advocate for innovative Business Intelligence solutions that enable our business partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Working collaboratively with business and stakeholder community to understand their specific business needs, conducting business analysis activities in projects that are moderate to high in complexity and working in group environments through various mediums;
Facilitating the gathering of requirements and leveraging User Stories, and working with IT analysts to support the creation and validation of documentation;
Preparing project related materials, managing the implementation and supporting change management through each phase of the project;
Ensuring proper communication of all project work is being delivered to all necessary parties, presenting to IT, project resources, steering committees and clients to facilitate managing expectations and deliverables;
Managing deliverables and schedules ensuring projects are completed within established timelines for medium to large sized projects independently;
Support the continued advancement of our BI strategy and approach through a solid knowledge and understanding of enterprise data models, business data sets, as well as Microsoft BI tools.

Qualifications:
Education: University or college diploma in Business or Technology
Work Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience
Security Clearance: Security Clearance Requirement: In conjunction with our contract with the Federal Government, you will be required to have Reliability Status Clearance (Enhanced Level B). This includes Fingerprinting, Criminal Record Check, Credit Check and you must have resided in Canada for at least 5 years and hold Permanent Resident or Citizenship Status.
What you Need to Succeed:
High level of understanding of the interconnectivity between business needs and IT systems
Facilitation experience with medium to large groups of professionals.
Excellent interpersonal and client management skills, with the ability to grasp customer-centric design principles.
Experience working in an agile environment, using cross-functional and remote teams.
Ability to assemble, analyze and evaluate moderate to highly complex data.
Effective communication skills with demonstrated ability to deliver audience tailored messages.
Experience in effectively communicating the value of BI strategy and influence business in adoption of it through each deliverable.
Strong relationship management skills with proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships, understands the principals of ‘needs anticipation’ and can be a trusted business partner to peers, steering and advisory committees and project teams.
Progressive technical knowledge, understands the interconnectivity between systems and outcomes, can evaluate technical solutions against functional requirements, can translate business requirements to support the delivery of technical solutions.
Understanding of data warehouse concepts and experience with writing queries using BI tools.
Demonstrated skills with respect to management of stakeholder expectations, resource coordination, planning and task management.
