Job Summary:
As a leading health and wellness partner for individuals, employers, and governments across Canada, Medavie is passionate and innovative about improving the wellbeing of Canadians. Medavie is maturing their information technology procurement practices and is seeking an IT Procurement Specialist who is passionate about enterprise-technology strategic sourcing and procurement activities that will contribute in meaningful ways to make a positive impact.
The IT Procurement Specialist responsibilities include strategizing to find cost-effective deals and suppliers, discovering the best ways to cut procurement expenses, and managing relationships with key suppliers. The ideal candidate should have an analytical mind and strong negotiating skills to secure the best deals for our company. Knowledge of market research, along with solid analytical skills to understand procurement and cost-saving trends, is a must.
This role involves extensive supplier management, contract negotiation, and collaboration with various departments to meet the organization’s IT needs
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Management: Oversee the procurement process for IT hardware, software, and services, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Supplier Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier performance to ensure high-quality service delivery. This includes regular performance reviews, risk assessments, and implementing improvement plans.
Cost Optimization: Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to reduce procurement expenses without compromising quality.
Contract Negotiation: Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable agreements that align with the company’s objectives.
Collaboration: Work closely with IT, legal, finance, and other departments to understand their requirements and ensure timely procurement of necessary resources.
Market Research: Stay updated on market trends, new technologies, and best practices in IT procurement to make informed purchasing decisions.
Integration and Automation: Lead initiatives to integrate and automate the IT procurement process, utilizing advanced procurement software and tools to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and reduce manual tasks.
AI Technology: Implement and manage AI technology for IT procurement to enhance decision-making, predict demand, optimize supplier selection, and improve overall procurement efficiency. This includes using AI for data analysis, risk management, and process automation.
Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
Experience and Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience: 4-6 years of experience in IT procurement and supplier management, with a proven track record of managing multiple suppliers and complex contracts.
Certification: Certification in procurement or supply chain management (PMAC/SCMP/ISM/CTPE) are nice to have.
Security Clearance: Security Clearance Requirement: In conjunction with our contract with the Federal Government, you will be required to have Reliability Status Clearance (Enhanced Level B). This includes Fingerprinting, Criminal Record Check, Credit Check and you must have resided in Canada for at least 5 years and hold Permanent Resident or Citizenship Status.
Skills:
