Summary
This position reports to the Maintenance Manager. As First Class Mechanic, you will inspect, maintain, repair, Forklifts/Lift Trucks in a safe matter, taking safety as the number one priority.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform minor and major repairs, and scheduled preventive maintenance on Forklifts/Lift Trucks.
- Maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures, operate computers which control and monitor mechanical equipment.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required, perform assignments in general maintenance such as: changing batteries in the industrial lift equipment or building maintenance duties, house keeping, filing, and other general duties at our Distribution Centres.
Qualifications
- You will provide your own basic tools of the trade and safety shoes.
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic skills - working with hands, and power tools.
- Hold a current and valid Ontario Certificate of Qualification, recognized by Skilled Trades Ontario; Automotive Service Tech, or Truck and Coach Tech, or Powered Lift Truck Tech.
- Good communication skills - read, write and speak English.
- 3 - 5 years trades experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Flexibility to work on various shifts (days, afternoons and nights) and weekends is a must, and all other assigned duties.
