SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Senior Human Resources Manager, Distribution Centers for Ontario. The Assistant Human Resources Manager will provide Human Resources and payroll support to the Ontario distribution centers.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the distributions centers, as required, by identifying and providing HR solutions to business issues and guidance and counsel on HR practices, policies, and procedures.
- Supports the execution of various HR programs.
- Work in close contact with the various internal HR departments.
- Advises and guides management on employee relations issues related to performance management, absence management and investigations into policy adherence.
- Supports and participates in departmental restructuring and organizational design changes through effective change management activities.
- Oversee a payroll team that is responsible for the integrity of the HR/payroll management system.
- Responsible to ensure the application of established controls to monitor compliance, including ongoing examination of the system through audits and analysis.
- Ensures the timely and accurate administration and weekly payroll process for all Ontario distribution centers.
- Ensures the appropriate application of HR legislation and regulations.
- Responsible for development of direct reports.
- Ensure department customer service standards are applied and develops services or service-improvement processes for areas of responsibility.
- Participate, as required, in special projects and initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- University degree or equivalent work experience.
- 3 - 5 years related experience and CHRL/CHRM designation is an asset.
- Experience in supervising, including performance management.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Excellent ability in coaching, investigating, time management, teamwork, and a high degree of professionalism.
- Working knowledge of ESA and Human Rights.
- In-depth knowledge of the HR system functions, SAP is an asset.
- Retail Industry knowledge an asset.
