As a bilingual French and English Senior Learning and Development (L&D) Specialist, your experience and creativity will allow you to function as a jack-of-all-trades to design, develop and facilitate learning content for National Bank Independent Network (NBIN) clients and employees. Dynamic, detail-oriented, creative and charismatic are all words co-workers use to describe you. Your understanding of adult learning and comfort in training technology-related content will help bridge the gap between talent and business objectives. You will accomplish this with professionalism, acting as an ambassador for NBIN’s values - Partnership, Agility and Empowerment.
Your role:
- Apply adult learning principles and ADDIE methodology to create high-quality learning content such as classroom training, micro-videos, on-screen automated tutorials and user guides.
- Facilitate virtual and in-person training classes for both clients and employees.
- Understand the business needs and tools available to deliver learning solutions that target NBIN business objectives.
- Develop relationships and partner with subject matter experts and stakeholders on multiple projects working primarily as a designer/developer of learning resources.
- Keep up-to-date on L&D best practices and use emerging technologies to develop innovative learning solutions.
- Conduct technology platform demonstrations for clients and/or prospects.
- Execute high-priority ad hoc training requests seamlessly into your other assigned project timelines.
- Champion a culture of learning and development by fostering an environment where NBIN clients and employees are encouraged to grow their personal and professional development goals.

Learning & Development is a small and agile group composed of 4 members reporting into the Practice Management & Business Evolution team at NBIN. We strive to provide high quality results within short timelines. We are focused on delivering training on NBIN technology and platforms, industry-related insights and trends, as well as personal and professional development programs. As ambassadors of learning and NBIN, we aspire to be valued resources who are professional, positive and fun.
Please note this position has to flexibility to work out of either the Toronto or Montreal office.
Prerequisites:
- Bachelor’s Degree or certification (preferably Instructional Design or Adult Learning) or 5+ years of practical experience creating technology-based and/or industry learning resources. OR any other combination of education and experience considered equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience facilitating virtual and in-person training.
- 2+ years of experience in financial services/wealth management preferred.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to quickly learn new complex concepts and turn them into high-quality learning resources.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team under tight timelines.
- Comprehensive knowledge of MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PPT, Teams).
- Experience with video editing software (Camtasia preferred).
- Experience with WalkMe and Axonify would be beneficial but is not required.
