A career as Senior Manager, IT Project Portfolio at National Bank means playing an advisory and influential role to optimize the management of the bank's cross-functional portfolio, thereby contributing to the achievement of its business objectives and priorities. It also involves contributing to the strategic vision, defining new ways of working and optimally managing cross-functional technology projects. In addition, you will contribute to the Bank's transformation in terms of capacity management and execution performance.

Your job

  • Optimize the use of portfolio resources to achieve the bank's objectives, in line with key priorities.
  • Establish and maintain effective partnerships with the various stakeholders contributing to the delivery of priority projects.
  • Influence and support business line portfolio managers in the prioritization and sequencing of initiatives.
  • Act as a delivery expert and make recommendations to management to maximize execution efficiency and speed.
  • Ensure and optimize the budget tracking of the bank's project portfolio.
  • Initiate changes to current methods for continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain effective methodology, processes and tools for portfolio management by sharing best practices and knowledge within the organization.
  • Set up management KPIs to measure the progress of the bank's portfolio.
  • Produce tactical and strategic dashboards demonstrating the state of the portfolio
  • Deploy and maintain rigorous governance that promotes the cross-cutting prioritization of initiatives
  • Analyze and recommend sequencing optimizations for initiatives in the context of cross-project/sector/domain constraints
  • Contribute to the optimization of the project delivery framework (Agility at scale)

Within the sector encompassing the evolution of practices, the evolution cycle and the cross-functional portfolio, you report to the Senior Director of Portfolio and Cross-Functional Delivery, Execution, Transformation and GDMO (Dynamic Workforce Management). Basic requirements

  • Completed bachelor's degree, related to the industry, and ten years of relevant experience or completed Master's degree, related to the industry, and eight years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience in technology project portfolio management
  • Experience in team management
  • Experience managing internal and external partners and suppliers
  • Experience in business process improvement
  • Proficiency in Agile delivery methods and effective ambiguity management
  • Knowledge of the banking sector, an asset
  • Knowledge of Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence) an asset
  • Ability to simplify issues, risks and business objectives
  • Ability to understand the business realities of the sectors involved
  • Good communication and ability to synthesize at all levels of the organization (from team members to executives)
