A career as a Senior Manager of Practice Management under the Practice Management & Business Evolution team at National Bank Independent Network (NBIN) means leading a team who is responsible for defining and guiding the principles which are the backbone to how we operate as an organization. These practices can be learning and development, change management or content management related. The team harnesses their expertise, foresight, and knowledge to create solutions and strategies for the success of NBIN, its clients, and colleagues.  It is through your effective team management and ability to develop strong, collaborative relationships through change excellence strategies that you have a positive impact on the delivery of NBIN’s objectives.

Your Job

  • Manage and mobilize a dynamic team of professionals and act as a leader in the NBIN organization to support our vision and objectives.
  • Proactively coach your team members in working towards personal and professional goals.
  • Drive the evolution of the NBIN learning and development strategy and source effective tools/solutions to support the implementation of the strategy working with colleagues and partners.
  • Manage and coordinate activities within your team while managing expectations with business partners.
  • Proactively develop and deliver training programs and initiatives that align with organizational priorities.
  • Ongoing identification and assessment of learning needs within NBIN for clients, colleagues and partners while monitoring and evaluating current programs and their effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain business relationships across all areas of the bank, NBIN stakeholders, vendors, and clients to maximize/optimize learning and development and change management capabilities.
  • Hire and retain talent in the team required to support the needs of our organization, today and for the future.
  • Define change management best practices and oversee the utilization of change techniques within projects and initiatives.
  • Accountable for defining, implementing, and managing the NBIN content management strategy, which includes overseeing the organization and maintenance of content, optimizing it for usability, accessibility, and performance, and ensuring it supports overall strategic objectives

Your Team 

You are part of a large team of colleagues within NBIN and report to the Vice President, Practice Management & Business Evolution, NBIN. NBIN is the pre-eminent choice for independent wealth management firms looking for brokerage administration support, providing trading and custodial services to Portfolio Managers (PM) and is a Carrying Broker to CIRO (Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization) registered Introducing Brokers (IB) across Canada. Creating strong partnerships with our clients is paramount to our success.

Prerequisites

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of financial services experience or equivalent in a related business sector; wealth management experience an asset.
  • Certified change practitioner qualification is considered an asset.
  • Professional certification (CTPD, ATD, etc.) and/or L&D experience an asset, or a working knowledge of L&D best practices.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to collaborate and positively influence and mobilize diverse stakeholders and partners, including internal teams, clients, and vendors.
  • Experience and interest in promoting diversity and inclusion
  • Experience in building, developing, and managing employees at all levels, with a strong focus on efficiently integrating new team members into business functions.
  • Versatile team player, comfortable with tight deadlines.
  • Strong organization skills with the aptitude to be successful in a fast-paced environment.
