Reporting to the Director of Fiduciary Services (DFS), you will provide legal advice and recommendations to the DFS in order to assist them in the various decisions they must make in the context of the processing of a file. You also participate in communications or meetings with clients when required. As needed and at the request of the DFS, you will perform certain administrative or follow-up tasks to help with the processing of files.

 

Your job:

  • Participate, under the leadership of DFS, in establishing and maintaining a privileged relationship with clients and improving the client experience through the implementation and rigorous monitoring of the Client Experience Standards of the Trusts and Estates sector.
  • Analyze the will and other legal documents when the file is opened or during administration and make recommendations to the DFS.
  • Carry out regulatory monitoring of estates, trusts and mandates.
  • Conduct legal research and communicate with external experts as required.
  • Act as administrator for managed companies in matters relating to estates, trusts and protection mandates and communicate with external experts for the preparation of financial statements, resolutions and other corporate documents.
  • Be accountable for the quality processing of the files under your responsibility and for their progress. You should regularly communicate their progress to your internal partners, customers and their experts, if applicable.
  • Support file closures.
  • Orchestrate the various legal activities related to the file in order to ensure proactive management of the file and meet deadlines.

 

Prerequisites:

  • Be registered with the Order of the Chambre des notaires du Québec or the Barreau du Québec
  • Customer service experience
  • Significant experience in a consulting role
  • Experience in the liquidation of estates or in the administration of trusts
  • Knowledge of investment or financial planning is an asset
  • Very good organizational skills, priority management and ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to resolve a wide range of complex and ambiguous challenges and situations in a practical manner
  • Very good communication and ability to simplify complex concepts
  • Ability to create strong professional relationships (internal and external)
  • Ability to quickly generate interest and trust
  • Quality of listening necessary for a good understanding of the client's sensitive issues
  • Ease of teamwork
