Purpose

Reporting to the crew Supervisor, this position is a part of a team which is responsible for the shipping/receiving, materials management, and supporting site and project operations. The Warehouse Tech will be required to operate equipment such as Forklift, Zoom Boom and Loader, in carrying out the duties outlines below, as well as additional duties as directed by the Supervisor and Superintendent Supply & Logistics.

The Red Chris Mine Supply & Logistics team is recruiting for a Journeyperson Warehouse Technician with a competitive hourly rate of $55.14 along with additional incentives such as a Travel allowance, benefits package, RRSP program with company matching, and other perks. We are seeking an individual for a Fly-in, Fly-out opportunity working on a two-weeks-on, two-weeks-off rotating schedule.

Demonstrate absolute commitment in supporting a safe and healthy working environment:

  • Support the Safety Management System, ensure a safety-first work culture; apply site safety standards, procedures and policies
  • Participate in site safety initiatives and supporting the agreed behaviours in the team;
  • Commit to and help support NewSafe
  • Actively support a culture of recognizing hazards and minimizing risk and consequential harm to employees
  • Support any investigations when work is stopped due to an unsafe act or condition and ensure actions to mitigate the risks are implemented
  • Take a proactive risk management approach to tasks, i.e., recognize, analyse and respond to ensure risks are at an acceptable level; help to ensure that prior to work commencing an effective risk assessment and controls are in place and understood
  • Maintain a clean workplace, complete housekeeping tasks prior to the completion of the daily shifts
  • Help to ensure team members are authorized, qualified and competent to undertake the task/s; Not allowing an inexperienced person to undertake tasks unsupervised
Technical Responsibilities

Technical responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Preserve safe and clean work environment by following policies and procedures
  • Assist shipping and receiving with unloading trucks and checking in merchandise
  • Keep accurate records of goods entering and leaving the warehouse
  • Receive pick tickets and prepare and stage customer orders accordingly
  • Work night shift on a rotational basis
  • Receive and process warehouse stock orders
  • Operate equipment such as forklift, zoom boom and loader
  • Enter data in inventory and logistics software
  • Maintain and manage inventory levels and controls
  • Other duties as required
Training & Experience

Position requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • Inter-provincial Red Seal Journeyman Partsperson required
  • Experience operating Forklift, Zoom Boom and Loader is required
  • Minimum of 3 years of warehousing experience required
  • Previous experience in mining operations is considered an asset
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • SAP experience an asset
  • Physical requirements: lifting, carrying, bending, stretching and standing for long periods of time
  • Valid Driver’s License in good standing
  • Team player that works well with others
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
