Purpose

A Common Core training program prepares people who are interested in working in an mineral processing environment. The program runs for two months and consists of Basic Mill Process Operator- Mineral Ore Common Core modules, as well as other specialty modules. The Mill School Program prepares the trainees to enter the workforce knowing the basics of mineral processing with safety as a priority. Training consists of theory and practical activities consistent with the guidelines outlined by the Common Core Modules, a series of programs administered by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Skills Development.

The ideal candidate will possess the following education, experience and competencies:
  • 18 years of age and older
  • Grade 10 minimum and/or equivalent
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Self-motivation and the desire to learn new skills
  • Fluency in English
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Working Conditions

The work schedule for this position is 14 days on 14 days off.
