About Brucejack
Our Brucejack Gold Mine, a high-grade underground mine in beautiful northern British Columbia, is located approximately 65 kilometres north of Stewart. Brucejack is a fly-in/fly-out operation with pick-up points across Western Canada, making it easy for people from different places to join us. We work closely with local First Nations communities including the Nisga’a, Tahltan, Gitanyow, and Gitxsan, to build respectful partnerships and celebrate our shared community.

Our Brucejack operation is now recruiting for the position of Technical Trainer with a competitive base salary between $105,000-$120,000 dependant on experience, skills, and qualifications. The offered base salary will be determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills and competencies with consideration to internal equity.
The Technical trainer will be a key player in the efficient development, maintenance and implementation of training systems and processes for the three camps. Reporting to the Training supervisor, the successful candidate will help developing training programs to ensure safe operations on site. This role is primarily focused around ensuring that Brucejack training standards, procedures and regulations are applied and respected in every training package. Some of the main duties will also be to implement and use SAP Success factors in their daily duties. There is also a requirement to provide leadership in their department and provide support to the other teams on-site.
• Provide training to employees, business partners and visitors
• Import and track training data in our learning management systems (LMS), including creating and updating courses, managing user accounts, and generating reports.
• Work closely with other trainers to ensure that training programs are effective, up-to-date, and meet business needs.
• Communicate effectively with employees to ensure that they have access to the training resources they need.
• Assist with scheduling and coordinating training sessions, including booking venues and equipment.
• Develop, maintain and update training materials, including presentations, handouts, and other resources.
• Assist with the implementation of a mentorship program applicable to every departments on-site
• Be a safety leader in all aspects of their position. Members of the Training department must be an example of Visible Felt Safety Leadership and must have the courage to speak up when something isn’t right.
• Assist the other members of the Training team in the development of VOCs and training material for their area.
• Build and influence relationships. Trainers must be approachable and adaptable to learning and leadership needs of team members. Trainers must have the ability to influence others through support, leading by example and coaching.
• Operational discipline - Meet project and development deadlines and provide compliance data at a regular basis to site leadership.
• High school diploma
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a training or learning and development environment
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with a focus on attention to detail and safety.
• Excellent computer skills on Microsoft Office and experience with learning management systems (LMS) or similar software.
• Experience in implementation of LMS will be an asset
• Experience in managing Learning Management software is an asset (SAP/MyLearning preferred)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a supportive, positive approach to training, ability to give direction.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrate problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent customer service skills and a commitment to ensuring employee satisfaction
