The Superintendent of Construction Works for the Tailings Facility is responsible for overseeing and managing the construction activities related to the tailing's storage facilities. This role is essential to ensure that these structures are built in accordance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and technical specifications.
- Correctly interpret plans and specifications and ensure adherence to the project timeline.
- Work closely with the contractor responsible for procurement and project management (ePCM) to:
- Coordinate all specialized contractors and ensure they fulfill their obligations and meet contractual requirements regarding deadlines, costs, and quality.
- Plan and coordinate the organization of the site according to the subcontractors' work.
- Support teams in the execution of works.
- Manage the labor budget to optimize project performance.
- Ensure that plans and specifications are adhered to as work progresses.
- Efficiently allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to optimize productivity and minimize costs.
- Produce labor time reports for the worksite, by activity codes.
- Participate in site meetings.
- Safety Management:
- Implement and enforce safety protocols on-site, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees and subcontractors.
- Complete required reports for management (incident/accident/hours/etc.).
- Apply the required prevention program and ensure its follow-up on-site.
- Quality Control:
- Ensure all construction work meets established quality standards and technical specifications. Perform regular inspections and quickly address potential issues.
- Communication:
- Serve as the main point of contact between management, construction teams, engineers, and other stakeholders. Provide regular updates on project progress and address any concerns or challenges as they arise.
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of experience in supervising construction projects, preferably in the mining or similar infrastructure sectors.
- Solid understanding of construction practices, safety standards, and relevant environmental regulations.
- Proficiency in project management software and planning tools.
- ASP Construction Card.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Bilingualism, French/English
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage diverse teams effectively.
- Interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Leadership and positive attitude.
- Time management, organization, and planning skills.
- Ability to proactively solve problems and make informed decisions in dynamic situations.
- Éléonore Mining Site (fly-in, fly-out from Montreal, Chibougamau, Matagami, Rouyn-Noranda, Val D'Or, and Wemindji).
- Schedule: 8 working days followed by 6 days off.
- Shift: Day shift.
