The Control Room Supervisor is part of the Mine Sector team. He/She is mainly responsible for managing various alarms generated by underground systems such as: gas, pumping, alarms from fixed and mobile equipment, ISAAC alert and others.

Description
  • Provide emergency management (release of mercaptan and mobilization of emergency teams)
  • In charge of managing alarms generated by various systems that are used underground
  • Ensure good ventilation management during and between work shifts and during the purge of blasting gases
  • Monitor the smooth operation of Ventilation-on-Demand (VOD)
  • Ensure the smooth operation of the 5 different remote operations process (jumbo drills, excavation, trucking, rock breaker, lifting)
  • Monitor blasting protocols (fan shutdown, opening and/or closing fan louvers)
  • Play a bridging role with Engineering Department during seismic events and plan for workplace closures, where appropriate
  • Coordinate return to work following gas purges and workplace closures
  • Open IsoVision incident and accident files
  • Participate, in conjunction with the supervision team, to optimize the mucking process daily.
  • Update report on mobile equipment fleet status and create work orders for planned repairs
  • Ensure remote operations of winches and crusher hammers, where required
  • Respect, know and promote regulations and policies, particularly with regard to health and safety
  • All other related tasks
Requirements
  • College Studies Diploma in Mineral Development/Technology
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in underground mining
  • Valid Explosives Permit
  • Mining modules (F.M.T.M.) completed
  • Good computer knowledge
  • Bilingualism is an asset
Working Conditions
  • Work schedule: 14 days of work followed by 14 days of rest
  • Éléonore mine site (round-trip flights from Montreal, Chibougamau, Matagami, Rouyn-Noranda, Val D'Or and Wemindji)
