This position will support Hoyle and Borden
- Providing direction and support to the operations group to ensure ventilation systems are designed, installed and maintained in accordance with company policy and regulations.
- Provide mentorship and professional development to the Ventilation team.
- Monitors and initiates repairs to the various auxiliary ventilation systems to ensure that regulatory compliance is maintained.
- Ensures ventilations surveys are conducted to standards with appropriate checks to ensure accurate results in a timely manner.
- Ensures that ventilation model is accurate and up to date.
- Maintains ventilation documents to meet legislative and company requirements.

- Be familiar with the Fatality Risk Management Program and incorporate the use of critical control verifications during daily work.
- Be proactive with respect to safety and help design and operate a site that is the safest possible, through input and thoughts shared with others.

- Ensure regulatory and inter-company procedural compliance.
- Ensures accurate ventilation surveys are taken and updated.
- Monitors and initiates repairs to the various auxiliary ventilation systems to ensure that regulatory compliance is maintained.
- Oversees and/or designs and schedules installation of auxiliary ventilation systems.
- Oversees and/or design and maintain a ventilation model using current vent modeling software. Including all relevant data.
- Evaluate system efficiencies and communicate recommendations
- Develop and maintain critical infrastructure condition management plan, ensure critical infrastructure in relation to fresh air system remains efficient
- Maintains inventory of fans and ventilation supplies and purchases additional inventory as required to ensure mining plan is achieved.
- Monitors and initiates repairs to the various auxiliary ventilation systems to ensure that regulatory compliance is maintained.
- Develop and implement long term ventilation strategy as part of strategic business plan.
- Manage the implementation of major ventilation system changes
- Implement cost controls for ventilation system expenditures
- Identify and initiate improvements to ventilation system(s)
- Assist Industrial Hygienist with the site Silica and DPM program.
- Assist Industrial Hygienist with the site sound monitoring program regarding ventilation systems.
- Conducts mine ventilation surveys and maintains accurate ventilation plans for use in planning, operations and emergency situations.
- Monitors performance of main ventilation system and gives input into required upgrades to infrastructure.
- Troubleshoots ventilation system issues and implement solutions
- Promotes and help planners make ventilation considerations at the all planning stages in order for ventilation systems to be part of the original design.
- Ensure ventilation system designs and plans are created to support operational requirements
- Oversees and/or provides operations with blast clearing instructions to ensure blast gases are cleared in a timely manner.
- Interact with government agencies from time to time.
- Bachelor Degree in Mining Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of mine operation and engineering experience.
- Possess or ability to obtain Professional Engineering designation
- Experience in a leadership role is an asset, not requirement.
- Be technically competent and have a good understanding of U/G mining.
- Have strong communication and people skills.
- Be focused, clear, and decisive.
This is a site based position supporting both Hoyle and Borden operation
Schedule is 4 days on 3 days off
