TEACHER - LONG TERM OCCASIONAL (LTO)
ST. JOSEPH-SCOLLARD HALL
1.0 FTE (three sections)
Learning Assistance Centre Program - Prep Coverage
Effective immediately,
for an indefinite period, but not to extend beyond January 31, 2025
Mandatory Requirements:
Basic qualifications to teach in the Intermediate & Senior Divisions.
Special Education Part I
Requirements:
Experience working with students with multiple exceptionalities and in particular, students with Autism
Special Education Part II or Specialist would be an asset
Knowledge of and experience of the Ontario Curriculum K-12
Knowledge and experience in implementing the strategies outlined in the Ministry’s Learning For All K-12 document
An understanding of the Ontario Catholic Curriculum and effective strategies to teach Literacy and Numeracy
Knowledge and experience in implementing the principles of Universal Design for Learning
Knowledge and experience in utilizing a variety of instructional and assessment approaches to support literacy and numeracy development
Knowledge and experience with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans, learning profiles and behaviour and safety plan for students with special education needs
Knowledge, experience and commitment to integrating a variety of digital learning technologies and related applications effectively into instructional practice
Knowledge and experience with the IPRC process
Experience and training in Behaviour Management Systems Training program (BMST)
Demonstrated effective communication skills and the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment with members of the staff, system team, community agencies and parents
Strong communication, planning, collaboration and interpersonal skills
Ability to plan for the effective integration of a variety of learning technologies and related software to support learning
A willingness to actively assume extra curricular duties
Commitment to ongoing professional learning and collaboration around the school’s Student Achievement Plan through school-based PLC’s, department meetings, co-planning and co-teaching.
Knowledge of, and familiarity with, the school community.
Knowledge and experience in utilizing student learning management systems such as Google Classroom, as well as additional G-Suite digital tools and EDSBY
