Founded in 2001, Nomadis is a company that specializes in workforce logistics as well as the logistics of health services in remote areas.

Through our involvement in several projects in Nunavik and Nunavut, we have encountered significant challenges in managing travel and accommodation for Indigenous communities. Position: Product Owner (#E2409-PO)Job Description

The Product Owner is a visionary leader who bridges the gap between the company's strategic goals and the scrum team's execution. They champion the product vision, ensuring that every feature request, user story, and backlog item aligns with the broader company objectives. By prioritizing and refining the product backlog, they ensure that the team delivers value that resonates with the target market. Their role is pivotal in planning releases and coordinating sprints, consistently steering the product toward its long-term vision while meeting immediate business needs.

Responsibilities and Accountability

  • Incorporate feature requests into product roadmap
  • Groom and prioritize backlog
  • Develop user stories and define acceptance criteria
  • Set sprint goals
  • Follow progress of work and address production issues during sprints
  • Analyze preferences and requests of end users
  • Refine our agile methodology based on results and client feedback
  • Keep track of industry trends

Skills and Profile

  • Energetic, motivated, and a proactive temperament, demonstrating exceptional leadership.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, particularly in technical writing
  • Autonomy and leadership in orchestrating collaborative work between teams and with clients.
  • Strong analytical mindset and excellent problem-solving skills, with determination and perseverance under constraints.
  • High standard of quality and excellent attention to detail.
  • Bilingual in French/English. Spanish is a major asset.
  • Eagerness to learn and a desire for continuous improvement to stay at the forefront of new methods and technologies.

Required Technical Skills

  • Experience with Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Proficient in creating, managing, and prioritizing the product backlog within Jira or any other project management tool.
  • Basic knowledge of software development processes, including coding concepts, APIs, and system architecture.
  • Knowledge of UX principles and experience working with design teams.
  • Understanding of technical constraints and the ability to communicate effectively with developers.

Professional and Academic Experience·

  • Bachelor’s or academic training in a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Approximately 5 years of relevant experience in an equivalent position in the software industry.
  • Certifications such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Agile Certified Product Manager (ACPM) are assets.
