About Us
Ontario is building a digital government. Innovative future ready technology is what will bring exceptional people focused services forward for Ontario. The Health Services I&IT Cluster provides information management and information technology solutions that enable and support the business requirements of the Ministry of Long-Term Care, Ministry of Seniors and Accessibility and the Ministry of Health, and its agents. The cluster supports the Ontario government's I&IT Strategy and plays a leadership role in major business transformation initiatives and infrastructure projects that are currently underway. The cluster is also working to promote the evolution towards a common IT infrastructure for government.
The Long-Term Care and Community Administration I&IT Solutions Branch (LTCCASB) mandate is to develop, maintain and modernize I&IT solutions for the Ministry of Long-Term Care and the Ministry of Seniors and Accessibility in support of ministry operations and community sector administration.

• Deliver user-centric solution design, development and implementation of cost-effective, high-performing, reliable and simple-to-use IT solutions

• Be part of an agile team that includes a Product Manager, Software Developers, User Experience Researchers, Experience Designers, DevOps and Content Advisors
• Research new technology trends and develop proof of concept
• Provide contributions and guidance in solution development and modern web frameworks related to open source technology solutions that ensure our solutions are available anytime, anywhere and on any device
• Be a pioneer for the development and implementation of forward-thinking standards and technologies to support transforming the digital experience for Ontarians interacting with government
• Provide contributions and guidance in problem-solving that involves people, tech and processes, using logic and common sense
How do I qualify?Architecture and DesignYou can:
• demonstrate your solid understanding of modern architectural standards for cloud-based solutions
• apply software engineering best practices and architectural practices to agile product delivery using emerging delivery methodologies that include, but are not limited to, agile, hybrid, and waterfall, etc.
• design modern architectural patterns to support delivery of complex IT solutions that are stable, secure, responsive and scalable
• conduct feasibility studies, reviewing new IT system architecture or re-engineering legacy systems
Technical KnowledgeYou can:
• demonstrate your development skills and understanding in Salesforce.com platform
• work with Salesforce Omni-Studio, Velocity, lightening web components, Experience Cloud, Apex, Triggers, and Visual Force
• lead teams through end-to-end software development life cycle, including deployment using DevOps tools and agile techniques
• provide guidance during evaluation of a business requirement and how it can be met with either point-and-click configuration or code and customization
• demonstrate your knowledge and understanding in code management and change management using Cloud-based tools like GitLab, Azure DevOps
• demonstrate your knowledge of, and hands-on ability to lead application development, including architecture, security, coding, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and cloud administration
• provide hands-on expert level assistance to developers for technical issues
• analyze systems requirements, architecting, designing and implementing IT solutions that conform to IT standards and best practices
• build complex, API-based solutions and transactional systems
• build effective UI design, accessibility, web standards, and design systems
• demonstrate your knowledge of common authentication technologies, browser-based security controls and standard web application security tools
• demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of code version control systems (e.g. Git), DevOps practices, cloud delivery / deployment models, virtualization, and container solutions (e.g. docker, Kubernetes)
• demonstrate your advanced knowledge and understanding of best practices for developing web-based applications that meet Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) compliance standards
Leadership and Organizational SkillsYou can:
• lead by example via taking ownership, writing code, being proactive and advocating for a collaborative environment
• steer teams on large-scale, complex IT projects and initiatives with high levels of autonomy
• provide mentorship, and guiding the work of team members/colleagues
• foster a culture of ownership and technical excellence
• articulate methods for build/buy choices on project components, identify common IT risks and address them with contingency plans and back-out options
• energize and motivate the team by recognizing successes and learning from failures
Project and Digital ExpertiseYou can:
• work closely with the project and product manager in planning product development, assisting in formulating product strategy, building a technology roadmap and setting timelines
• demonstrate your judgement and prioritization skills to supervise developers and perform code reviews/quality assurance activities
• define technical approaches to understand the user story, breakdown the tasks and guide others in doing so
• get buy-in from a team to implement new and improved ways of doing things
• demonstrate your technology expertise around product development, shared best practices and tools with your peers across the organization, collaborated and shared insights and opinions with other developers, and shared lessons learned from your work with peers and leaders to help guide your approach to digital transformation
