About Us
The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is the largest school board in Eastern Ontario and offers students and parents a world of choice for learning. Our nearly 150 schools offer a wide range of programs to promote learning excellence and meet the individual needs of students, parents, and the community at large. Our schools are teaching communities where principals, vice-principals, teachers and support staff nurture student well-being and challenge students to achieve their best.
We are seeking creative, dynamic, and committed teachers to join our team at Forest Valley Elementary School.
At Forest Valley Elementary School, we pride ourselves on: the quality of the programs; the academic performance of the students; the variety of activities offered; the professionalism of staff; and, the high level of involvement and support from our parents. We set high and attainable academic and social expectations for our students. Students are encouraged to respect diversity, celebrate differences and develop tolerance and acceptance of others. We have a forest behind our school and we are doing work with a Traditional Knowledge Keeper to learn about and appreciate the land on which we learn on and live on. We encourage students to think for themselves, develop strategies to make informed, thoughtful decisions, assume responsibility for their actions, become self-motivated, develop self-confidence and develop as resilient members of society. We challenge ourselves to take academic risks by doing things differently and by coming up with new and creative ideas.
Ideal candidates will support the fulfillment of the Ottawa-Carleton District School Boards (OCDSB) Strategic Plan to enhance the quality of education in the school, and the District, by creating a positive and inclusive school climate, learning and workplace environment. Candidates will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and respectfully, with a human rights and equity perspective, to foster student success, achievement and well-being.
