We are seeking a creative, dynamic, committed professional to join our team:

Operations Team Lead - Days

Six (6) Month Term Assignment

Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week

Union Exempt Level 8: $95,389 to $112,277

Under the direction of the Team Manager of Operations, the Operations Team Lead (Days) will be responsible for providing direct supervision to an assigned group of schools and custodial staff working during the regular day shift; checks and inspects facilities/sites to ensure acceptable levels of cleanliness and/or housekeeping standards are met; ensures the safe and efficient operation of custodial services through the planning, development and implementation of programs to successfully deliver custodial services to all OCDSB sites. Involved in the hiring, supervision and performance evaluation process, including administration of the attendance management program. Provides support and consultation to school administration teams regarding replacement coverage during daytime activities.

Qualifications

Post secondary education in building/maintenance operations, or related field and 6 years of experience managing staff in the custodial/maintenance environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.

Facility Management Certificate with BOMI Education Canada or Certificate in Facilities Management with Office of Open Learning with Guelph University would be considered an asset.

Knowledge of Health & Safety and implementation of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations.

Knowledge of school operations, maintenance and housekeeping procedures.

Supervisory skills, including leadership for leading, training and directing teams; and ability to address and resolve problems and concerns.

Interpersonal/Communication Skills (oral and written) for liaising and interacting with schools and administrative personnel, providing information, direction and clarification with tact, diplomacy and discretion.

Organization Skills including time management tools for organizing work assignments; dealing with multiple demands and schedules and conflicting priorities.

Good judgment skills required for problem solving and conflict resolution.

Computer technology skills including proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets and database applications.

Note: working conditions include frequent driving to OCDSB sites.
