We are currently seeking candidates to apply for a Systems Analyst I position at Centre for Education, Technology Services Department located in Stony Plain, Alberta.
The is a Temporary Full-time position for the 2024-2025 school year, working specifically to fulfull Student Services Vereda testing platform implementation and training, as well as, student assessment platform and dashboards.
The role also involves a diverse mix of systems development, database management, and process improvement reflecting the Division-wide scope of our customers. This includes Student Information System support and Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP) integrations, ecommerce, improvement projects, related training and other specialized systems.
Primary Responsibilities:
Student Information System
Primary resource for Powerschool (Student Information System), including Systems Administration, Database Management, reporting, database development and integration with all various database driven applications.
Supporting staff through quality assurance, developing and delivering appropriate training, resolving tier 2 issues, managing the key annual milestones (rollover, start-up, scheduling), communicating and liaising with stakeholders, and facilitating vendor support
Management of Student Information System projects, taking the lead on developing and implementing solutions to ensure the projects meet scope and timelines.
Assess technical challenges and risks and develop appropriate mitigation plans.
Make project status presentations and develop technical briefings.
Improvement projects and ecommerce
Developing and executing service and systems improvements that create benefit for stakeholders and generate financial benefits for the Division.
Implementing and supporting ecommerce solutions to accelerate processes and empower users.
Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
A Bachelors in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, or Bachelors in Commerce Business Administration or equivalent post-secondary education
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Powerschool Student Information System
Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of
Oracle and MS SQL systems and database management
Oracle, MS SQL query, scripting and Powerschool and Oracle reporting skills
accounting procedures and business principles
internal controls and risk management
Excellent organizational, planning and project management skills
The ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision
Solutions driven, out of the box thinker
Excellent interpersonal, written communication and presentation skills
Excellent team and customer service skills
The following additional skills would be an asset:
School business or database management experience
Process improvement, project management, systems support/super-user experience
Change management/change agent experience
Previous Student Information System and ERP Experience
Project Management (PMP) Certification or Training
School Messenger Data Administration, Rycor Fees Data Administration
Windows Server Administration and Powershell Scripting
Note: An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
This position requires a current criminal record check and child intervention record check.
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours/week (Monday to Friday) flexibility in scheduling is available
Pay Rate: $58,000 to $75,000 per annum
