Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Junior to Intermediate Environmental Site Assessments and Remediation Project Manager to support our Environment and Energy (E&E) Team! In this role you will get to work closely with a variety of professionals on environmental and infrastructure projects.
What You'll Be Doing:
The primary responsibilities for this position will include project management, coordinating investigations and investigations, design and/or preparing reports for environmental site investigation (ESA), excess soil planning, and remediation projects. Specific job description includes but is not limited to the following:
- Project coordination and technical support related to various environmental and infrastructure projects, including investigations, remediation design and excess soil planning, investigation and management.
- Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments to CSA and O.Reg.153/04 requirements;
- Remedial planning and site remediation oversight and coordination: including excavations and various in-situ methodologies with the support of senior professionals
- Support Excess soil and waste management planning on infrastructure projects, contributing to planning and design inputs as per O.Reg. 406/19
- Learn, follow, advocate (train others) and improve upon on our project processes that may be required by Parsons and/or our clients. These processes may be related to field scheduling, reporting, data process, health and safety, training, and others.
- Project Management and Coordination:
- ESA and remediation related projects
- Tracking and maintaining budgets and project finances
- Preparing reports
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Degree in earth sciences, environmental/chemical/geological engineering or similar programs
- 3 + years of consulting experience at an engineering firm with strong experience in the applicable federal and provincial environmental laws and regulations within a Canadian (preferably Ontario) jurisdiction supporting contaminated sites projects with consulting values over $100K and/or as a project manager or a technical designer
- Strong understanding of environmental site assessment objectives and methodologies, including soil and groundwater sample collection, conducting work programs efficiently and safely.
- Strong ESA investigation knowledge and understanding level of effort and costs associated with soil and groundwater field programs
- Strong financial and budget management aptitude
- Process oriented, including adherence to rigorous client and Parsons process and policies including but not exclusive to reporting, health and safety, procurement, human resources and IT workflows.
- Track record of delivering high quality work products and attention to detail.
- Strong technical writing abilities.
- Familiarity and understanding of key Ontario regulation (O.Reg. 153/04, 406/19, and 347) related to Brownfield development, excess soils and waste.
