Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to manage and lead the design, delivery, and construction management for various dynamic linear water and wastewater projects.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Independently performing engineering tasks on assigned projects, including developing engineering calculations, drawings, engineering reports, specifications, cost estimates, presentations, and required applications to regulatory and/or funding agencies.

  • Providing engineering construction management and support through submittal reviews, evaluating testing data, etc.

  • Managing and leading project team members including mentorship of junior engineers.

  • Stamping and sealing engineering drawings as the Engineer of Record.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including structural, electrical, transportation, and environmental engineers.

  • Engage in client meetings and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering, Water Resources, Environmental Engineering, with related work experience delivering linear/conveyance projects.

  • Professional Engineer registration or eligibility to register with PEO is required.

  • Strong understanding of the GTA/Ontario engineering consulting market.

  • 7+ years of experience in water/wastewater projects.

  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory standards and guidelines (e.g., MECP, TRCA, municipal design standards and codes).

  • Excellent technical writing and report preparation skills.

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for client and stakeholder engagement.


What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Knowledge in water/wastewater modeling and optimization.

  • Familiarity with GIS tools (ArcGIS, QGIS) for spatial analysis.

  • Experience with environmental impact assessments, permits, and regulatory submissions.

  • Assess and optimize water and wastewater treatment plants, including capacity analysis, and operational improvements.

  • Understanding of water quality principles, pollutant transport, and treatment technologies.

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation, and hydraulic modelling software such as InfoWorks/InfoWater.
