YOUR ROLE

  • Assess the patients' health status and provide appropriate care throughout the transfer, adhering to medical protocols and taking into account their needs and wishes.

  • Ensure the planning of aeromedical transports by coordinating each step of the transfer, including medical care and both land and air transport.

  • Maintain smooth and effective communication with all stakeholders (flight coordination, medical team, hospitals, ambulance staff, etc.) to ensure accurate follow-up and optimal patient care.

  • Apply and adhere to the current procedures and policies while ensuring a quality service centered around the patient.

REQUIRED AVAILABILITY

A minimum of 4 days of availability every 2 months.

Requested skills

Qualifications and Operational Requirements:

  • College diploma in nursing;

  • 2 years of experience in critical or emergency care (emergency room with resuscitation, expanded role, etc.) 

  • Must be a member of the Order of Nurses of Quebec (OIIQ);

  • CAMATA (Canadian Aerospace Medicine and Aeromedical Transport Association) certification would be an asset (training provided in-house);

  • SIR (Immediate Resuscitation Care) training would be an asset (training provided in-house);

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification would be an asset (training provided in-house).

Skills and Competencies:

  • Valid driver’s license;

  • Bilingual in English and French (50% of operations are conducted in English);

  • Ability to plan, organize, lead, and control;

  • Strong communication skills;

  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities;

  • Teamwork skills;

  • Strong organizational skills, methodical, and initiative-driven;

  • Autonomous;

  • Customer service and safety oriented;

  • Versatile, flexible, reliable, and punctual;

  • Knowledge of Indigenous communities and dialects from around the world (an asset).
