As a HEF Data Analyst, you will work closely with our team to support the production of data-driven insights and decisions in HEF portfolio. Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated, strong passion towards data, and detail-oriented Data Analyst Co-op with Strong Python Coding skills to join our team for a 4-month term. As a HEF Data Analyst, you will work closely with our team to support the production of data-driven insights and decisions related to the HEF portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data analysis and real-world problem-solving skills.

What will you do?

  • Data Collection and Preparation: Assist in gathering, cleaning, profiling, and transforming data from various sources to ensure data integrity and readiness for analysis.
  • Data Analysis and Visualization: Utilize Python and data analysis libraries (Pandas, Numpy, and many more) to analyze large datasets and generate meaningful insights. Familiarity with some python visualization packages like plotly and matplotlib is a plus.
  • Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain Python scripts to automate data processing tasks, streamline workflows, and improve efficiency.
  • Data Quality: support data quality checks and validation processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data used in analysis.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to improve current reporting processes.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus on computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, statistics. Preferably in third year or pursuing a masters degree.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to details
  • Ability to perform complex data analysis on large volumes of data and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Advanced Programming skills in Python with experience in data science related tools and packages like, Pandas, Numpy, Plotly, etc.
  • Experience or understanding of Relational Database (and SQL) and data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau)
  • Strong MS Office skills Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Please note:This posting is for a 4-months Winter 2025 Student placement with a start date of January 2025, and end date of April 2025. In order to be eligible for this 4-months Student position, you must either:

  • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of April 2025 ; or
  • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in April 2025), you must require the full 4-months work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.
