What is the opportunity?

This role reports to the Director, Business Management within the Production and Risk Services (PRS) team in Quantitative and Technology Services (QTS). As part of this team, you will be responsible for delivery and oversight of the QTS Technology Currency Program, handling the upgrade and migration activities for all End of Life technology used across Capital Markets spanning Hosting, Operating Systems, Databases, Middleware and Business Software.

This role will act as a central point of contact for QTS Application Development teams, Technology Infrastructure, Technology Risk and offshore delivery partners on End of Life Technology.

What will you do?

  • Oversees the Technology Currency Program in delivery, financial management, reporting and communications to senior executive stakeholders

  • Formulates the Capital Markets strategy on End of Life technologies, working with teams across the RBC platform and external vendor partners to understand the product lifecycle and roadmap

  • Manages the annual book of work and financial planning for Technology Currency initiatives, including line of sight on future technologies approaching End of Life

  • Leads monthly SteerCo presentations to senior executives, communicating program risks, issues and accomplishments

  • Develops a detailed program and work/delivery plans covering software across geographies and business lines

  • Works with partners in IT Risk Advisory and Enterprise Risk to identify technology risks, covering cybersecurity vulnerabilities, support agreements, and patching limitations

  • Conducts regular touchpoints with teams across the Enterprise to eliminate road blocks, resolve issues, drive progress and mitigate risks to the program

  • Takes initiative in other infrastructure programs within QTS, such as server virtualization, cost efficiencies, vendor management and other ad hoc items

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • 5-10 years in project management experience, handling delivery in a complex, matrixed organization with multiple stakeholders

  • Experience with large technology infrastructure programs (ex. Data Center Migrations), coordinating across Application Development teams and Technology Infrastructure partners

  • Excellent analytical skills proven experience conducting data analysis/discovery/aggregation as a foundation to providing meaningful analysis and management reporting to facilitate business decisions at a senior management/executive level.

  • Strong communication skills, to synthesize data and simplify a complex problem for an executive audience

  • Excellent proficiency with MS Office Programs (Power Point, SharePoint, Excel) and Tableau

  • Proficiency with project tracking and planning applications (JIRA, Confluence)

\Nice-to-have

  • Educational background in Software Development or Computer Engineering

  • Broad IT systems management experience

  • Knowledge of Capital Markets products and systems is an asset
